As soon as the old Bay Bridge was shut down, crews began dismantling it. Most of that work was on the Oakland touch down to make way for the temporary bicycle path. But taking down the entire structure is a Herculean engineering feat that has been years in the making and will really just begin to be noticeable in the next few months.
